I absolutely love the comedy-drama Together Togetherwhich stars Ed Helms and Patti Harrison. During my interview with director-writer Nikole Beckwith, she talked about approaching her story from a very “internal” place. She also talks about why “It’s a Wonderful Life” is one of her favorite films.
Beckwith also talks about the ending of Together Together, and that audio is exclusive to our CinemAddicts Patreon members.
Check out a further discussion of Together Together as I discuss the movie on the Find Your Film podcast.
Here’s my interview with Some Kind of Heaven filmmaker Lance Oppenheim. Documentary is now out in theaters and is available On Demand. My post on Oppenheim is up on Deepest Dream. I discuss Some Kind of Heaven on the latest Find Your Film podcast.
It’s a new year, and I am focused on finally getting to 500 movies. I have failed twice before (I tried last year and chunked it). Hopefully the third time is the charm!!
If you want to be part of the 500 movie journey, email me at ourcinemaddicts@gmail.com.
Latest Flick City episode features my interview with “House of Hummingbird” director/writer Bora Kim. The film, which has received huge critical acclaim and awards, is now available in the U.S. via Kino Marquee. On this episode of Flick City I shower praise on the upcoming film The Vast of Night which hits Amazon Prime Video on May 29. I have audio from my interview w/ TVON actor Jake Horowitz as well. Rounding out the show is an old clip I have of Jamie Bell (he was promoting Teen Spirit at the time) talking about his love for The Silence of the Lambs. I also take a trip down memory lane once again, and by this time I have no idea if I’m freaking repeating myself!
“Tigers Are Not Afraid” fillmaker Issa López gives an excellent piece of advice on writing and briefly talks about “Raiders of the Lost Ark” (it’s one of her favorite films). “The Delicacy” director Jason Wise gives a detailed and passionate answer on why shooting on film in a digital age should not be a thing of the past. The DVD/Blu-ray Steelbook of “Tigers Are Not Afraid” comes out May 5, 2020. “The Delicacy” streams exclusive on SOMM TV starting May 7.
